How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Company Overview

    Affinity Children’s Care Ltd has 2 therapeutic EBD children's residential homes in Castleford together with 2 homes in Walsal who are dedicated to supporting young people aged 8 to 18 who have faced significant traumatic experiences. We are committed to creating a safe, nurturing environment that promotes growth and development, while adhering to high Ofsted standards and the Children’s Act.

    Summary

    We are seeking compassionate bank Support Workers to join our dedicated team at Affinity Children's Care to play a vital role in supporting our young people's emotional well-being and development, adapting to the PACE model and therapeutic parenting to align with our mission to foster safe and nurturing environments.

    Hours of Work

    The hours of work are as and when required to cover any gaps in the rota. This may be a full shift inclusive of sleeps (07:30-10:30 and half an hour handover the next day 07:30-08:00) or had hoc hours.

    Responsibilities

    * Provide daily support, guidance and care to young people within the residential settings and community.

    * Participating and engaging in activities.

    * Maintaining a safe and clean home environment, including the completion of all domestic duties and providing home cooked meals.

    * Develop and implement individualized care plans, risk assessment tailored and key works to each young person's needs.

    * Lone working with the young person and professional bodies may be required.

    * Foster positive relationships with team members and young people through effective communication.

    * Ensure the safety and well-being of young people at all times.

    * Maintaining confidentiality at all times, reporting directly to your line manager any information or concern in a timely manner.

    * Collaborate with team members and external professionals to support young people's progress.

    * Maintain accurate records on ClearCare of care activities, incidents and care plans.

    * Promote a supportive and enjoyable environment.

    * Adhere strictly to Ofsted standards, Children’s Act, and Children’s Care Standards.

    Qualifications

    * Level 4 Children Young People and Families Practitioner, Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care. Qualification is preferred.

    * Experience working with children or in a residential childcare settings is essential

    * Valid UK driving license is essential.

    * Strong communication skills.

    * Knowledge of PACE, therapeutic parenting but training will be provided

    * Ability to work as part of a team.

    * Compassionate and patient nature.

    * Knowledge of care planning is advantageous.

    * Computer literacy is essential

    * An understanding of the challenges and trauma young people face within a residential care setting.
