How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    JOB TITLE: Senior DevOps Engineer

Agile Working Options: Some out of hours working / on-call support rota participation required.

    About this opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced engineer with deep knowledge of Google Cloud networking and a passion for creating secure, reliable, automated infrastructure at scale. You don’t need to tick every box — but should recognise yourself in most of the following:

    Core Skills & Experience

    • Strong hands‑on engineering experience with GCP networking in enterprise environments — including core services like VPCs, Cloud Interconnect, VPC Peering, Cloud Routers, Firewalls, DNS, Load balancers, Private Connectivity and Cloud / Hybrid NAT.
    • Terraform expertise and experience deploying infrastructure as code.
    • Practical DevOps experience using modern tooling (e.g., Git, Terraform, Terraform Cloud, GitHub, Harness).
    • Ability to lead by example — whether reviewing code, supporting colleagues, or resolving complex networking issues across production and non‑production environments.
    • Strong engineering discipline: designing, deploying, and owning services through their full lifecycle, with security, compliance and reliability built in.

    About you

You enjoy solving complex, distributed systems challenges and building resilient, automated solutions at scale. You’re energised by how cloud networking underpins modern AI, data and hybrid‑cloud architectures. Collaborative across teams — architecture, cloud engineering, Google partners — and you care about doing things the right way: secure, observable, automated and resilient.

Nice to have (Not required — but great if you have some of them.)

    • Experience maintaining large‑scale GCP networking or hybrid connectivity environments.
    • Network Connectivity Centre
    • Understanding of how GCP networking supports key workloads (e.g., Compute, Database, storage, and data/AI platforms).
    • Familiarity with Python or Bash for infrastructure automation.
    • Knowledge of enterprise network concepts such as IP management, proxies, firewalls, Infoblox or identity platforms.
    • Exposure to monitoring and telemetry systems (e.g., Dynatrace, Google Cloud Monitoring).
    • Relevant GCP certifications or a background in cloud/infrastructure engineering.

    What matters most

Curiosity, ownership, collaboration, and a drive to improve how things work. You’ll thrive here if you enjoy shaping solutions, navigating ambiguity, and working with others to deliver secure, scalable, modern cloud networking.

    About working for us

Our focus is to ensure we're inclusive every day, building an organisation that reflects modern society and celebrates diversity in all its forms.

We want our people to feel that they belong and can be their best, regardless of background, identity, or culture.

If you’d like reasonable adjustments to be made to the recruitment process, please let us know.
