How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Manpower are currently seeking an interim Consumer Technical Insights Specialist, to work with our global FMCG client Unilever, renowned for brands such as Dove, Sure, Persil, and Simple, and become an integral part of their fast-paced FMCG environment.

The position is based at our client’s scientific Research & Development facility in Port Sunlight Village, Wirral easily accessible by train and car. This is a full-time temporary role to run for 6 months, requiring 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Compensation for this role is competitive, paying up to £34,000 per annum, pro rata, depending upon experience.

Ready to shape the future of fragrance?

At Unilever, we’re not just making products — we’re crafting experiences that touch lives in over 190 countries, every single day. From Dove to Lynx, Comfort to Tresemmé, our brands are household names — but we’re on a mission to go beyond. We’re building a world where sustainable living is the norm, and where every scent tells a story.

Fragrance is more than just a nice smell — it’s a powerful emotional connector. As one of the world’s biggest fragrance users, we’re transforming how we create and deliver scent experiences. Our in-house fragrance experts are pushing boundaries to design affordable, unforgettable fragrances across Beauty & Wellbeing, Personal Care and Home Care.

    What’s the role about?

As Fragrance CTI Specialist, you’ll be at the heart of our fragrance innovation journey. You’ll support consumer testing programmes that decode what people really feel about scent — turning data into insight, and insight into irresistible fragrance experiences.

You’ll be part researcher, part data storyteller, part fragrance futurist — working with perfumers, evaluators, digital teams and more to make sure our fragrances don’t just smell good, but feel right.

    What you’ll be doing:

    Testing Leadership

    • Supporting and running fragrance testing programmes — from concept to delivery — using qualitative, quantitative and technical methods
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate big questions into smart testing strategies
    • Build strong partnerships with internal teams and external vendors
    • Ensure ethical data practices and champion consumer privacy.

    Insights & Data

    • Turn raw data into rich stories — supporting creating dashboards, reports and recommendations that drive fragrance development
    • Stay curious — explore new research methods and bring fresh thinking to the table.
    • Present insights in ways that connect — whether it’s a deep dive for technical teams or a punchy summary for senior leaders
    • Be the voice of the consumer in every fragrance conversation.

    What you’ll bring:

    • A degree in Science, Psychology, Market Research, Statistics — or equivalent experience in consumer research
    • Experience in FMCG is a plus, but not essential
    • Ability to manage complex research programmes with agility and independence
    • Passion for both qualitative and quantitative research
    • Confidence in briefing and working with research agencies
    • Strong data skills would be ideal — connecting sources, spotting patterns, and communicating insights
    • Bonus points for experience with statistical tools like Compusense, JMP or SAS
    • Great communication and presentation skills — across teams, levels and cultures
    • Organised, proactive and detail-oriented
    • Adaptable and open to change

    Why join us?

This is your chance to be part of a team that’s redefining fragrance for the future — blending creativity, science and data to create scents that move people. You’ll work in a vibrant, purpose-led environment where your ideas matter and your impact is real.

Smell the change. Shape the future. Join us.
