How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Title: Visual Merchandiser

    Job Summary

    This role oversees visual merchandising for the company, including new stores and remodels across different channels. Responsibilities involve managing brand launches, updating visual elements, and collaborating with global creative teams to ensure innovation within brand guidelines. The focus is on driving brand strategy and storytelling through high-quality VM executions.


    Principal Accountabilities

    Design Visual Merchandising:

    • Develop innovative and visually appealing designs for product displays, window displays, and in-store signage to enhance brand visibility and customer experience.
    • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional materials like posters, banners, and digital displays for events and campaigns.

    Modification of Visual Merchandising:

    • Customize and modify existing visual merchandising designs from headquarters to fit specific retail environments and market trends.
    • Continuously update and refresh visual merchandising elements to maintain brand relevance and excitement.

    Communication and Project Leadership:

    • Lead the VMD project communication with retail partners, including presenting design concepts, obtaining approvals, and coordinating installation schedules.
    • Work closely with contractors and vendors to ensure accurate and timely installation of visual merchandising elements according to brand guidelines and quality standards.
    • Lead and execute VM projects while optimising budgets.
    • Maintain strong knowledge of competitors' campaigns and trends communicating this with key stakeholders.
    • Understand store operations and how best to contribute to the overall functioning, including daily trade recaps, and capturing key product updates.
    • Proactively plan for upcoming product releases to ensure excellent in-store representation.
    • Deliver VM training to ensure all team members understand display/window requirements and standards.

    Collaborative Teamwork:

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as marketing, sales, and product development to align visual merchandising strategies with overall brand objectives and product launches.
    • Provide guidance and support to store teams on maintaining visual standards and executing merchandising changes effectively.
    • Collaborating with marketing to ensure in-store digital touch points are in line with the drops and social media pushes.


    Key Experience and Skills


    Qualification and Experience

    • Experience in the beauty or retail industry 5+ years of visual merchandising preferred.
    • Understanding of the industry, competitor brands and treatments, trends and changing customer behaviour.
    • College or higher degree in Visual Merchandising, Design, Marketing, or a related field.
    • Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, or other visual design tools.


    Skill Sets

    • Demonstrable visual design skills with a strong retail merchandising portfolio.
    • Solid experience in field visual merchandising, including window displays, signs, interior displays and space utilization.
    • Knowledge of current visual merchandising trends and best practices.
    • Good project management skills to facilitate coordination with multiple departments.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Willingness to learn and study all key information and characteristics of existing and new products.
    • Willingness to work a flexible schedule and take significant local travels, and occasional international travel.
