How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Key responsibilities will include:

Valuing and managing variations and compensation events
Supporting the preparation of client applications and final accounts
Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities
Maintaining accurate project records and commercial documentation
Working closely with operational teams to maximise project performance
    About You
We are keen to speak with candidates who have:

Previous experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering, utilities or infrastructure projects
Strong commercial awareness and understanding of project controls
    Good knowledge of NEC contracts
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
A proactive approach and desire to progress within a leading contractor environment
    What's on Offer?

    Starting salary of £45,000 - £55,000
    £5,000 car allowance
25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
    Company pension scheme
    Private healthcare
Long-term secured workload with United Utilities
Structured career development and progression opportunities
Opportunity to work on a flagship £100m infrastructure programme
Supportive team environment with a highly regarded name in the industry
If you're looking to join a market-leading contractor and develop your career on one of the North West's most significant water infrastructure projects, we'd love to hear from you.
