How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Role: Legal Cashier

    Location: Central London (Hybrid)


    About the Opportunity

    A highly respected, boutique law firm situated in the heart of Central London is seeking an energetic, proactive Legal Cashier to join their close-knit finance team. Recognized as a top-tier specialists in their field, this niche practice offers high visibility and the opportunity to make a tangible impact within a growing, collaborative environment.


    This is a uniquely blended, hands-on role. The successful candidate will dedicate approximately 2–3 days per week to spearheading the end-to-end credit control function, with the remaining time focused on supporting legal cashiering operations and assisting the wider finance department.


    Key Responsibilities

    • Credit Control & Debt Management: Manage the credit control process from end to end, systematically chasing outstanding debt and managing aged balances.
    • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner closely with internal partners and fee earners to proactively resolve billing queries and client issues.
    • Risk Mitigation: Monitor active debtor positions, flag potential financial risks early, and support continuous process improvements.
    • Legal Cashiering: Support day-to-day legal cashiering workflows in strict compliance with SRA Accounts Rules.
    • Transactional Ledger Support: Process client and office account transactions, alongside assisting with firm-wide billing, receipts, and bank reconciliations.


    What the Firm is Looking For

    • Experience: 3–5 years of established experience working within a legal finance function.
    • Core Competencies: Robust credit control capabilities, ideally gained within a law firm or professional services environment.
    • Compliance Knowledge: Prior exposure to legal cashiering processes and a solid foundational understanding of SRA Accounts Rules.
    • Systems & Environment: Experience working within an SME or boutique professional practice is highly desirable. Exposure to legal practice software such as Partner for Windows (P4W) or similar systems is considered an asset but is not essential.
    • Cultural Fit: A communicative, hands-on professional who possesses a collaborative mindset and thrives within a lean, dynamic team structure.
