How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Sprinkler Design Engineer
    Covering sites across the Midlands
    £55,000 - £60,000 + car allowance & Benefits
    Overtime & Travel Package Available
     
    We are looking for an experienced Sprinkler Design Engineer to support the design and delivery of sprinkler systems across a range of main contract projects.
     
    You will be responsible for producing compliant sprinkler designs, coordinating with clients and contractors, preparing hydraulic calculations, and supporting projects through to completion.
     
    Key Responsibilities

    Design sprinkler systems in accordance with LPCB, BS EN 12845, and project specifications.
    Coordinate designs with clients, consultants, contractors, and other trades.
    Produce working drawings, hydraulic calculations, and material schedules.
    Attend site and design meetings as required.
    Support procurement activities and manage design documentation.
    Issue completion documentation and certification.
    Ensure projects are delivered in line with programme requirements and industry standards. Skills & Experience

    Proven experience in a sprinkler design engineering role.
    Strong knowledge of LPC BS EN 12845 and Factory Mutual standards.
    Proficient in AutoCAD and hydraulic calculation software.
    Ability to produce detailed sprinkler designs and calculations.
    Strong communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
    Full UK Driving Licence. Desirable

    LPCB Intermediate and Full Hydraulic Calculation qualifications.
    Revit 3D experience.
    Knowledge of NFPA standards.
    HND or Degree in an Engineering or Construction-related discipline.
