How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Project Manager
     
    Location: Cambridge
    Duration: 6-month Rolling Contract
    Rate: £450 per day CIS
     
    Are you an experienced Project Manager with SDF works expertise looking for a long-term freelance opportunity in the East of England? We are seeking a highly experienced Freelance Project Manager to oversee a portfolio of SDF works projects across the Cambridge region. This is an excellent opportunity for a proven PM with National Highways experience who enjoys managing multiple schemes while benefiting from genuine flexibility and long-term contract security.
     
    Working with a leading infrastructure team, you'll be responsible for delivering 4-5 live projects simultaneously. While these schemes are typically valued in the hundreds of thousands, they require strong programme management, stakeholder coordination, and a proactive approach to health, safety, and delivery.
     
    The role offers a flexible working arrangement, including working from home up to 2 days per week as well as at a variety of different offices based on location.
    Contracts are offered on a rolling 6-month basis, with work already secured through to at least Christmas and likely beyond.

    Essential Requirements
    ·Proven experience delivering SDF works (essential)
    ·Valid CSCS Black Card
    ·SMSTS
    ·National Highways Passport
    ·Safety Critical Medical
    ·Strong project management experience within highways or civil engineering environments
    Desirable
    ·Chapter 8 vehicle
