How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Job Title: Panel Wirer / Harness Assembler
    Location: Burton upon Trent
    Pay Rate: £17.55 per hour PAYE
    Contract: 6 Months+
    Hours: 40 Hours per Week

    We are currently recruiting for an experienced Panel Wirer / Harness Assembler to join a leading engineering business based in Burton upon Trent on a long-term contract.

    This role would suit candidates with previous experience in automotive, rail, heavy engineering, or other electrical manufacturing environments who are confident building, repairing, and testing electrical harnesses and assemblies.

    Key Responsibilities:

    * Manufacturing electrical harnesses and conduit assemblies to engineering drawings and work instructions
    * Building concentric layered harnesses to a high standard
    * Inspecting, testing, fault-finding, and repairing electrical harnesses and assemblies
    * Carrying out repairs to electrical components, control cabinets, power packs, and associated equipment
    * Identifying wear, damage, or faults and reporting findings to the Electrical Team Leader
    * Completing inspection records and production documentation accurately
    * Working to production targets whilst maintaining high quality standards
    * Following all health and safety procedures and company processes

    Candidate Requirements:

    * Previous experience as a Panel Wirer, Harness Assembler, Electrical Fitter, or similar role
    * Ability to read and work from engineering drawings and wiring schematics
    * Experience manufacturing and repairing electrical harnesses
    * Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
    * Able to work effectively within a fast-paced production environment
    * Rail, automotive, rolling stock, or heavy engineering experience would be advantageous

    This is an excellent opportunity to secure a long-term contract with a well-established engineering organisation.
