How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Summary

    Are you an experienced Plant Workshop Manager or Workshop Supervisor with strong plant maintenance knowledge and proven leadership skills A well-established engineering and plant business is looking for a proactive Plant Workshop Manager to lead the day-to-day operation of its busy workshop in Eversley.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a Plant Workshop Manager to take ownership of workshop performance, lead a skilled team, and help drive improvements across maintenance, safety, and operational efficiency. The successful Plant Workshop Manager will play a key role in minimising downtime, improving preventative maintenance processes, and maintaining high workshop standards.

    Key Responsibilities

    Lead and manage a team of mechanics and welders, allocating workloads effectively.
    Support recruitment, coaching, and development of workshop staff.
    Ensure servicing, repairs, and inspections are completed efficiently and safely.
    Oversee preventative maintenance programmes to maximise plant availability.
    Support engineers with diagnosing complex plant and mechanical faults.
    Ensure all 12-month inspections are audited and signed off correctly.
    Monitor damage charges, labour usage, and parts costs accurately.
    Work closely with the Parts Controller to maintain effective stock levels.

    Skills & Experience Required

    Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Workshop Manager, Workshop Supervisor, or similar role.
    Strong background within plant maintenance and repair environments.
    NVQ in Plant Maintenance or equivalent qualification.
    Proven people management and team leadership experience.
    Good understanding of plant legislation, compliance, and HSQE standards.
    Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
    Experience implementing workshop systems and processes.
    Experience with Syrinx plant management systems would be advantageous.
