How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

My client is a leading specialist piling contractor seeking experienced Piling Engineers to support the delivery of a major infrastructure project in Birmingham.

The works involve large-diameter rotary bored piling using a combination of slip casing, segmental casing, and bentonite techniques. This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-profile project with an 4-6 month contract and strong potential for extension.

    Piling Engineer Responsibilities:

    * Managing and overseeing rotary bored piling operations on site.

    * Working closely with piling crews, rig operators, and site management teams.

    * Ensuring piling works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with specifications.

    * Monitoring quality and maintaining accurate site records.

    * Liaising with clients, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.

    * Reviewing piling records, installation data, and as-built information.

    * Assisting with planning and coordinating daily piling activities.

    * Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.

    Piling Engineer Requirements:

    * Proven experience working on rotary bored piling projects.

    * Experience with large-diameter piling works using slip casing, segmental casing, and bentonite.

    * Previous experience working for major piling or civil engineering contractors.

    * Background in roles such as Piling Engineer, Senior Engineer, or Contracts Engineer.

    * Experience on major infrastructure projects is highly desirable.

    * CSCS Card.

    * Strong communication and organisational skills.

    * Ability to work independently and manage site activities effectively.
