How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Project Manager
    Location: Thames Valley Region
    Salary: Up to £80,000 DOE + Car/Allowance + Benefits

    The Opportunity

J3A Recruitment are proud to be working in partnership with a leading Tier 1 infrastructure contractor delivering major projects across the UK water sector.

Due to continued growth and a secured AMP8 workload, our client is looking to appoint an experienced Project Manager to support the successful delivery of projects across the Thames Water framework throughout the Thames Valley region.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager to join a business with a strong reputation for delivering complex Civil Engineering and MEICA projects ranging from infrastructure upgrades through to multi-million-pound capital investment schemes.

Whilst hybrid working is available, this is very much a site-focused role. We're looking for a hands-on Project Manager who enjoys being close to delivery teams, building strong relationships with clients and consultants, and driving projects through from concept to completion.

Whether your background is Civil Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical or MEICA, we're keen to hear from individuals who can successfully lead projects from cradle to grave whilst maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality and performance.

    Key Responsibilities

    *

Take full responsibility for the successful delivery of projects across the Thames Water framework.

    *

Manage projects through all phases including design, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover.

    *

Lead project teams to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, on programme and within budget.

    *

Manage subcontractors, suppliers and site teams throughout the project lifecycle.

    *

Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, consultants and key project stakeholders.

    *

Monitor programme performance and proactively identify and mitigate project risks.

    *

Work closely with commercial teams to manage project costs, forecasts and reporting.

    *

Chair project meetings and provide regular updates to internal and external stakeholders.

    *

Support design development and ensure buildability and programme considerations are incorporated from an early stage.

    *

Oversee commissioning and final handover activities to ensure successful project completion.

    About You

We're keen to speak with experienced Project Managers who have a proven track record delivering infrastructure, utilities, civil engineering or MEICA projects.

    You will ideally possess:

    *

Previous experience working as a Project Manager within the water, utilities, infrastructure, energy or construction sectors.

    *

Experience delivering projects from initial concept through to final handover.

    *

Strong knowledge of either Civil Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical or MEICA project delivery.

    *

Experience managing subcontractors and multiple stakeholders across live project environments.

    *

Strong client-facing skills with the ability to build trusted working relationships.

    *

Commercial awareness and experience managing project budgets and forecasts.

    *

Excellent planning, organisational and problem-solving abilities.

    *

Experience working within NEC contract environments would be advantageous.

    *

Knowledge of programme management tools and project reporting systems.

    *

HNC, HND or Degree qualification within an engineering or construction discipline would be beneficial.

    *

    SMSTS qualification & CSCS Card.

    What's On Offer?

    *

    Salary up to £80,000 DOE

    *

    Company Car or Car Allowance

    *

26 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays

    *

    Private Medical Insurance

    *

    Matched Pension Contribution

    *

Life Assurance, Professional Membership Fees Paid

    *

Employee Assistance Programme, Flexible Benefits Package

    *

Hybrid Working Opportunities, Ongoing Training & Development

    *

Long-Term AMP8 Project Pipeline, Genuine Career Progression Opportunities

    Why Join?

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Project Manager to join a market-leading contractor at the start of AMP8 and play a key role in delivering some of the most significant water infrastructure projects in the UK.

You'll have the autonomy to lead projects your way, the support of an experienced delivery team around you, and the opportunity to work on a varied portfolio of Civil Engineering and MEICA schemes throughout the Thames Valley region.

If you're a Project Manager looking for a long-term opportunity with a business that values delivery, relationships and career progression, we'd love to hear from you
