How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    We are currently working with a well-established and growing multidisciplinary property and construction consultancy that is looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to join its expanding team.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded professional who enjoys working across a diverse range of projects and wants to be part of a collaborative environment where career development is genuinely encouraged.

    The Role

    As a Quantity Surveyor, you'll be responsible for providing cost management and commercial support across projects from inception through to completion. You'll work closely with clients, project teams and contractors, helping to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest standards.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Preparing cost estimates, budgets and detailed cost plans

    * Managing procurement and tender processes

    * Contract administration and commercial management

    * Conducting valuations and cost reporting throughout project lifecycles

    * Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities

    * Negotiating and agreeing final accounts

    * Building and maintaining strong client relationships

    About You

    To be successful in this role, you'll ideally have:

    * Experience within a Quantity Surveying position, either consultancy or contractor-side

    * A strong understanding of construction contracts and cost management principles

    * Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

    * A proactive and solutions-focused approach

    * A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline

    * MRICS status or progression towards chartership would be advantageous
