How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Location: St Andrew's Street, Cambridge, CB2 3BU
    Salary Range: £34,800 - £40,904 (points 37 - 43 on the University’s single salary spine)
    Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full-time contract, 36.5 hours per week

Christ’s College seeks to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced individual to the role of Undergraduate Tutorial Administrator, providing high-quality administrative support within the College’s Tutorial Office.

    The Role

Working as part of a busy and professional team, the postholder will liaise with a broad range of stakeholders, including College staff, Fellows, students, and colleagues across the University. The role encompasses support for the full undergraduate lifecycle, from arrival, matriculation, academic progression, assessment, and student welfare, contributing to the effective delivery of a high standard of student support.

The Tutorial Team is responsible for providing comprehensive support to all Christ’s students. The Senior Tutor, Professor Tom Monie, has overall responsibility for students’ educational and welfare provision within the College, supported by the Tutorial Office Manager, Nicolas Watkins-Wright, who leads the administrative team.

The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent organisational and communication skills, together with a professional, discreet, and sensitive approach to handling confidential matters. The ability to work effectively and pragmatically in a complex and varied environment is essential. Experience within a University or College environment is desirable but not essential, as a strong set of transferable skills can provide an excellent foundation for success in this role.

The postholder will be expected to provide efficient, accurate, and reliable administrative support across a wide range of student-related matters, including academic and welfare provision. Strong IT proficiency is essential, particularly in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
