How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Focus 5 Recruitment are supporting a growing financial services business in Leicester in their search for a Marketing Director. This is an exciting opportunity to join an ambitious organisation that provides independent financial advice to a growing base of private clients and has significant plans for future expansion.

The successful Marketing Director will be responsible for leading the company's marketing function, creating and delivering a strategy that supports business growth, strengthens brand presence, and enhances the customer journey. This is a highly visible leadership role, offering the opportunity to shape both marketing performance and the future development of the team.

We're looking for a commercially focused marketing professional who combines strategic vision with a practical approach to delivery. You'll be equally comfortable developing long-term plans, analysing performance data, leading people, and getting involved in campaign execution when required.

Whether you're already operating at Marketing Director level or are a senior marketing leader ready to take the next step, we're keen to hear from candidates who can demonstrate a strong track record of driving growth through effective marketing strategy and leadership.

    The Role

    Strategic Leadership

    * Develop and implement a marketing strategy that aligns with the company's growth objectives.

    * Identify opportunities to increase market share, brand awareness, and customer engagement.

    * Ensure all marketing activity delivers measurable commercial outcomes.

    Customer & Brand Development

    * Lead initiatives designed to improve customer acquisition, retention, and overall experience.

    * Use customer insights and data to inform campaign planning and strategic decision-making.

    * Drive consistency in brand positioning and messaging across all channels.

    Marketing Performance

    * Drive marketing activity that directly supports ambitious business growth targets, ensuring clear alignment between marketing initiatives and commercial objectives.

    * Work closely with senior stakeholders to identify opportunities for revenue growth, client acquisition, and increased market penetration, using marketing as a key driver of business performance.

    * Establish and monitor meaningful performance metrics, using data, insight, and commercial awareness to continually optimise activity and maximise return on investment.

    Team Management

    * Provide leadership, direction, and support to the marketing team.

    * Create a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

    * Coach and develop team members, helping them achieve both personal and professional growth.

    Budget & Resource Planning

    * Take ownership of marketing budgets and ensure expenditure is aligned with business objectives.

    * Evaluate marketing investment and maximise return across all activities.

    * Manage resources effectively to support both short and long-term goals.

    Skills & Experience

    * Significant experience in a senior marketing leadership role.

    * Demonstrable success in developing and delivering marketing strategies that have driven business growth.

    * Degree educated in Marketing, Business, or a related subject.

    * Strong knowledge across digital marketing, brand development, customer engagement, and campaign management.

    * Proven experience leading, mentoring, and developing successful marketing teams.

    * Highly analytical with the ability to use data and insights to shape strategy and improve performance.

    * Strong understanding of marketing technology and modern marketing practices.

    * Experience within financial services would be advantageous, although candidates from other regulated environments will also be considered.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a successful and expanding business where marketing is viewed as a key driver of growth. The role offers genuine influence, autonomy, and the chance to build and develop a high-performing marketing function.

For immediate consideration and further information, please apply today.

Please note: Candidates must be able to attend the Leicester office 3-4 days per week as part of the hybrid working arrangement
