 Mechanical Fitter – Stockport

Salary: £42,500 + Excellent Benefits (Pension, Life Assurance, 25 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays)

Hours: Monday to Friday – Days Only (No Weekends)

Evening Cover: 1 in every 5 weeks (Driving licence required)

The Role: As a Mechanical Fitter, you’ll be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance, repairs, and installations across a range of production equipment and plant machinery. You’ll work as part of a small, skilled maintenance team ensuring machinery runs efficiently and downtime is
kept to a minimum.

Key Responsibilities:
Perform mechanical maintenance, fault finding, and repair work on manufacturing equipment.
Carry out installations, strip downs, and rebuilds as required.
Work from engineering drawings and technical specifications.
Support production teams to ensure smooth plant operations.
Participate in an evening cover rota (1 in every 5 weeks). About You:
Time-served Mechanical Fitter or equivalent engineering qualification.
Strong background in mechanical maintenance within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Must hold a full UK driving licence (due to evening cover requirements). Benefits Include:
