How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Managing the design process throughout all project phases from tender through to completion.

    * Coordinating architects, consultants, subcontractors and internal project teams.

    * Reviewing and managing design information to ensure compliance, buildability and cost-effectiveness.

    * Identifying and mitigating design risks and resolving technical challenges.

    * Ensuring design programmes align with project delivery schedules.

    * Supporting pre-construction activities, including bid submissions and design development.

    * Managing design changes and maintaining accurate project documentation.

    * Promoting quality and best practice across all aspects of project delivery.

    What We're Looking For

    * Proven experience as a Design Manager within the construction industry.

    * Experience working on new build and refurbishment projects across a variety of sectors.

    * Strong technical understanding of construction methods, regulations and design management processes.

    * Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

    * Ability to coordinate multiple workstreams and manage competing priorities.

    * Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

    * A proactive and collaborative approach to project delivery.

    What's on Offer

    * Salary of £60,000 - £65,000 depending on experience.

    * Attractive benefits package including car allowance, pension and bonus scheme.

    * Clear opportunities for career progression within a growing business.

    * Ongoing training and professional development.

    * Exposure to a varied portfolio of interesting and technically challenging projects.

    * A supportive and collaborative company culture.

    * Long-term job security backed by a strong pipeline of work.

    * The opportunity to join a business that genuinely values its employees and invests in their success.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Design Manager seeking a role with autonomy, responsibility and genuine prospects for long-term career growth. You'll be joining a contractor that has built its reputation on delivering high-quality projects, maintaining exceptional standards and fostering a positive working environment for its people.
