How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    BAM UK & Ireland are recruiting a Soft Services Supervisor to join our Facilities Management team.

    This is a full time role 37.5 hours Monday – Friday with possible evening shifts and will be expected to travel across the project portfolio covering areas around the South East and/or South West. A company van will be provided for the applicant, so a full clean driving license is essential for this role.

    Making Possible

    The Supervisor will work alongside team’s providing soft services across multiple contracts. Supervising, whilst ensuring a high standard of cleaning and service to all areas at all times.
    Duties include:
    • Ensure that all tasks are carried out in accordance with key performance indicators.
    • Ensure all tasks are carried out in accordance with health, safety and compliance guidelines, rules and procedures.
    • Ensure all cleaning and soft service tasks are actioned from the PDR device.
    • Ensure that staffing levels including annual leave is managed and where necessary report to the Contracts Manager so that appropriate levels of support can be offered.
    • Supervision of all cleaning staff by daily individual personal communication and use of communication using appropriate methods.
    • Ensure adequate stocks of consumables are available in nominated cleaning stores and where necessary, ensure requests for replenishments are submitted and ordered in a timely manner within the agreed financial allocation.
    • Collating and submission of staff timesheets and monthly absence reporting
    • Carry out periodic performance auditing on your team and sites (this will involve attending other sites within the portfolio)
    • Assistance in the training of cleaning staff in the use of approved equipment and methodology following the BICSc standards.
    • Carry out Regular TBT (tool box talks) in line with the company requirements on a monthly basis.
    • Ensure all employees are compliant with their responsibilities as set out in the BAM FM Code of Conduct.
    • Ensure staff holidays are recorded and monitored correctly in accordance with BAM policies and Procedures.
    • Operate as part of the wider One BAM ethos and build good relationships with the clients.
    • Ensure any shortfalls or concerns identified are reported to the Contracts Manager * Dealing with queries via email/phone
    • Assist the Contract Manager with the Company Quality Assurance Audit as specified.
    • Carry out cleaning audits across the projects and attend client meeting when required.
    * Ensuring that all BAM FM policies, procedures and standards are in place and adhered to.
    * Other duties as and when required

    Your team

    This will be a mobile role and the hours will be split over several sites and office based across the working week. This could include locations London, Maidenhead, Sittingbourne, Havant & Milton Keynes. There may be a need to visit Exeter and Bristol on occasion.

    A company van will be provided for the applicant, so a full clean driving license is essential for this role.

    What do you bring to the role?

    • Previous supervisory experience in a cleaning/soft service environment like the position advertised and be confident in managing their team.
    • BICSc cleaning qualification or equivalent would be an advantage.
    • Knowledge of COSHH and H&S.
    • Ability to motivate and manage staff performance and ensure that standards are maintained and required training is carried out
    • This will be a mobile role and hours will be split over several sites across the day.
