How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    SEMH Business Teacher - Secondary School (Wirral)

    Are you a passionate and resilient Business Teacher looking to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people? We are seeking an enthusiastic SEMH Business Teacher to join a dedicated team at a specialist secondary school in the Wirral, supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled educator who is committed to helping students overcome barriers to learning and achieve positive outcomes both academically and personally.

    The Role

    As an SEMH Business Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and accessible Business Studies lessons to secondary-aged pupils with a range of additional needs. You will create a supportive and structured learning environment that promotes confidence, resilience, and achievement.

    Key responsibilities include:

    Planning and delivering high-quality Business Studies lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
    Differentiating learning to meet the individual needs of students with SEMH needs and additional learning barriers
    Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils to support engagement and progress
    Implementing behaviour management strategies using trauma-informed and restorative approaches
    Monitoring, assessing, and reporting on student progress and attainment
    Supporting students' personal, social, and emotional development alongside their academic learning
    Working collaboratively with pastoral teams, SEN staff, parents, and external professionals
    Contributing to EHCP reviews and personalised learning plans where appropriate
    Promoting a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment

    The Ideal Candidate

    We are looking for a teacher who:

    Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
    Has experience teaching Business Studies at secondary level
    Has experience working with SEMH, SEND, alternative provision, or challenging behaviour (desirable)
    Demonstrates excellent classroom management and relationship-building skills
    Is adaptable, patient, and resilient in their approach
    Has a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people to succeed
    Can inspire and motivate learners who may have experienced barriers to education
