How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Registered Manager – Children's Residential Home (EBD)

    Location: Derby (DE22)
    Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum upon registration + £3,000 annual bonus (subject to criteria)
    Contract: Full-Time, Permanent

    Are you an experienced and passionate Registered Manager looking for your next opportunity within Children's Residential Care?

    We are seeking a dedicated and qualified Registered Manager to lead a 2-bed therapeutic Children's Residential Home supporting young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced manager who can provide strong leadership, maintain high standards of care, and drive positive outcomes for children and young people.

    Please note: We are only considering experienced Registered Managers for this position. Unfortunately, we are unable to consider applicants seeking progression into their first Registered Manager role, as the home already has a Trainee Deputy Manager in place.

    About the Role

    As Registered Manager, you will be responsible for the overall leadership, management, and smooth operation of the home, ensuring compliance with Children's Homes Regulations, Quality Standards, and Ofsted requirements.

    You will:

    *

    Lead and inspire a dedicated residential care team

    *

    Ensure the home delivers high-quality therapeutic care and positive outcomes for young people

    *

    Maintain full compliance with Ofsted regulations and statutory requirements

    *

    Manage safeguarding, risk management, and care planning processes

    *

    Recruit, develop, and supervise staff to achieve excellence in care delivery

    *

    Monitor and improve service performance through effective leadership and quality assurance

    *

    Work collaboratively with professionals, families, and external agencies

    *

    Participate in the senior management on-call rota (approximately 1 week in every 5 weeks)

    Working Hours

    *

    Monday to Friday

    *

    09:00 – 17:00

    *

    40 hours per week

    *

    Flexibility required to work additional hours when necessary to meet the needs of the home

    *

    Participation in the out-of-hours emergency on-call rota

    Essential Requirements

    *

    Previous successful Ofsted registration as a Registered Manager within a Children's Residential Home

    *

    Ability to satisfy Ofsted's Fit Person requirements

    *

    Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare OR Level 5 Diploma in Children, Young People and Families Management

    *

    Minimum of 2 years' experience in a supervisory or management role within Children's Residential Care

    *

    Experience working with children and young people in a residential setting

    *

    Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills

    *

    Thorough understanding of Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards

    *

    Full UK Driving Licence

    Desirable

    *

    Experience within a therapeutic residential setting

    *

    Experience supporting children with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD)

    *

    Proven track record of achieving positive Ofsted outcomes
