How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Introduction

This is a fantastic development opportunity for someone in the early stages of their finance career who is looking to build strong foundations in financial accounting and financial control.

As our Reconciliation Accountant, you’ll join a supportive Finance team and gain hands‑on experience across bank and balance sheet reconciliations, month‑end processes, and financial controls. You’ll be supported by experienced accountants and given the opportunity to develop your technical skills, confidence, and your understanding of how Finance supports the wider organisation.

    Main Responsibilities

    * Perform regular bank and balance sheet reconciliations, investigating reconciling items with stakeholders and collaborating to resolve in a timely manner.

    * Support month‑end and year‑end close activities, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and adherence to governance timelines.

    * Assist in the production of monthly management information and financial reports for governance forums.

    * Maintain, document, and develop reconciliation processes and procedures, identifying opportunities to streamline and improve activities.

    * Work alongside a wider Financial Reporting & Control team, as well as other stakeholders, to support the delivery of annual financial statements for all Group entities.

    * Provide hands‑on support and guidance to other business areas to ensure appropriate accounting treatment of transactions.

    The Ideal Candidate

    * Some experience in a finance or accounts role (including internships, placements, or apprenticeships).

    * An inquisitive mindset, with the confidence to ask questions and seek clarification from stakeholders to support complete and accurate financial outcomes.

    * Good problem‑solving skills, with the ability to think logically and work through issues step-by-step.

    * Strong organisation and an ability to manage time effectively so as to meet deadlines, particularly during busy month‑end periods.

    * A positive, proactive attitude and a desire to develop a career in finance.

We welcome applicants from all backgrounds, and we encourage you to apply even if you feel you do not match 100% of the technical requirements. We celebrate diversity, promote inclusivity and strive to create a work environment which ensures everyone can be heard.
