How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Overview

    Core Group is currently recruiting for an experienced Fabricator / Welder to join a busy and well-established metal fabrication workshop based in the South West. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled individual looking to work on a variety of high-quality bespoke metalwork and structural steel projects within a professional and supportive environment.

    You will be part of a skilled fabrication team delivering precision-built architectural and structural components used across commercial, residential, and private developments.

    Key Responsibilities

    Fabrication and welding of bespoke steel and architectural metalwork

    Working from detailed technical and fabrication drawings

    Producing high-quality items to exact specifications

    Supporting the wider production team to meet project deadlines

    Ensuring all work meets required quality and safety standards

    Operating efficiently within a modern workshop environment using advanced fabrication processes

    Typical Work Includes

    Staircases (feature, access, and structural)

    Walkways, gantries, and platforms

    Balustrades, handrails, and balconies

    Structural steel frameworks

    Custom architectural metal features

    Candidate Requirements

    Minimum 3 years’ experience in MIG and/or TIG welding and fabrication

    Ability to confidently read and interpret fabrication drawings

    Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship

    Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

    Reliable, punctual, and self-driven

    Good organisational and time management skills

    Flexible approach with the ability to prioritise workload

    Salary & Benefits

    Competitive pay: £15.00 – £17.00 per hour (depending on experience)

    Estimated annual earning potential: £30,800 – £38,000 (including overtime)
