How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Are you an experienced mechanical maintenance professional with strong leadership skills and a passion for safety, reliability, and continuous improvement? We’re looking for a Maintenance Supervisor (Mechanical) to coordinate and supervise maintenance activities within a designated plant area, ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of all internal and contractor maintenance work.

This is a key role in supporting operational performance, equipment reliability, and legislative compliance across the site.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out in full compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental legislation, company policies, and procedures.
    • Act as the main point of contact between the central maintenance function and production areas for both internal and contractor maintenance activities.
    • Coordinate and supervise all mechanical maintenance work within the allocated plant area.
    • Provide technical support and guidance to maintenance trades personnel as required.
    • Specify, monitor, and assess the performance and quality of work undertaken by external contractors and internal trades teams.
    • Maintain data quality and ownership of mechanical assets within the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
    • Generate maintenance performance reports and analyse equipment performance to identify and implement improvement opportunities.
    • Develop and update planned preventative maintenance procedures in line with best practice and site requirements.
    • Lead Root Cause Analysis investigations and support reliability-centred maintenance (RCM) and asset criticality assessments.
    • Work closely with production teams to improve the reliability and effectiveness of process and safety-critical equipment.
    • Manage the procurement of strategic critical spares.
    • Develop Safe Systems of Work for mechanical maintenance activities.
    • Support compliance activities and assist production management in meeting legislative requirements.
    • Carry out objective setting, performance reviews, and development activities for direct reports.

    Qualifications & Experience:

    • Minimum HNC or Apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering.
    • Experience of mechanical machinery within a manufacturing environment.
    • Proven experience in a maintenance supervisory role.
    • Strong understanding of maintenance planning, equipment reliability, and continuous improvement principles.
    • Good IT, communication, and team-working skills.

    Desirable:

    • NEBOSH qualification.
    • Experience working within a hazardous manufacturing environment.
    • Explosives Awareness Training.
    • Lean Six Sigma qualification.
    • RCM and/or TPM experience.
    • Risk Assessment training and experience.

    The Ideal Candidate:

    • Personally committed to Safety, Quality, and Environmental standards.
    • Proactive and solutions-focused, with the ability to identify and resolve issues before they impact operations.
    • Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop high-performing teams and build effective working relationships.
    • Driven to identify and implement improvements that deliver business benefit.
    • Knowledgeable in company policies, operating procedures, and compliance requirements.
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

    Benefits:

In return, we offer a competitive salary plus excellent benefits, including pension, healthcare, an employee assistance programme, and a range of flexible benefits including Cycle2Work and several local and national employee discounts.

If you're ready to take on a challenging and rewarding role supporting the reliability and performance of critical manufacturing operations, we'd love to hear from you!
