How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide expert dermatology consultations for a range of skin conditions, including acne, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, and skin infections.
    • Assess, diagnose, and manage both common and complex dermatological conditions within the scope of primary care dermatology.
    • Perform minor dermatological procedures, including cryotherapy, skin biopsies, and excisions where appropriate.
    • Identify and refer patients requiring specialist secondary care input, including suspected skin cancers.
    • Utilise dermoscopy for the assessment of pigmented lesions and skin cancer detection.
    • Prescribe and manage dermatological treatments in line with current clinical guidelines and best practices, including topical and systemic therapies.
    • Work collaboratively with other clinicians, including consultant dermatologists, aesthetic practitioners, and general practitioners, as part of a multidisciplinary team (MDT).
    • Support and educate patients on skin health, treatment plans, and preventative measures.
    • Ensure high standards of clinical governance, including accurate documentation, audit participation, and compliance with MedHub policies and CQC requirements.
    • Stay up to date with the latest dermatology research, treatments, and guidelines to enhance clinical practice.

    Essential Requirements

    • Must live within 1 hour of the clinic location.
    • GMC registration with a licence to practise in the UK.
    • Postgraduate training or certification in dermatology (e.g., a Postgraduate Diploma or MSc in Dermatology, or equivalent experience).
    • Experience in primary care dermatology and managing a wide range of skin conditions.
    • Competency in dermoscopy and lesion recognition for skin cancer screening.
    • Ability to perform minor dermatological procedures, such as cryotherapy and skin biopsies, with a current DOPS certificate.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-centred approach.
    • Strong commitment to clinical governance, patient safety, and continuous professional development.

    Desirable Qualifications & Experience

    • Previous experience in a dedicated dermatology clinic (NHS or private sector).
    • Fellowship of the Primary Care Dermatology Society (PCDS) or membership with British Association of Dermatologists (BAD).
    • Experience in medically-led aesthetic dermatology (e.g., prescribing for acne, rosacea, or hyperpigmentation).
    • Minor surgery skills, including benign lesion and BCC excision.
    • Experience in teaching or supervising other healthcare professionals in dermatology.

    What We Offer

    • Competitive salary and flexible working arrangements (part-time or sessional work available).
    • Opportunity to work in a modern, well-equipped private medical setting.
    • Collaboration with an experienced multidisciplinary team including GPs, dermatologists, and aesthetic practitioners.
    • Ongoing CPD and training support to enhance your dermatology expertise.
