How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

This opportunity would suit a commercially aware, customer facing individual with an ability to be flexible, communicate and be an effective problem solver looking to join a stable, international engineering business with long-term growth plans.

    What You’ll Be Doing

    Customer Interaction

    • Be the main contact for clients and intercompany departments regarding refractory enquiries and issues.
    • Carry out customer site visits for scoping new work and customer relationship development.
    • Conduct on-site or remote technical assessments of cremator refractory conditions to determine repair or reline requirements.
    • Perform periodic on-site inspections of contractor work.
    • Build and maintain strong customer relationships to drive satisfaction, retention, and repeat business.

    Order Management

    • Process and own customer sales orders from purchase order through to invoicing.
    • Prepare an accurate bill of materials to be issued for despatch.
    • Ensure all required documentation (Procedures, RAMS, etc.) are submitted before work begins.
    • Co-ordinate contractors, logistics, waste management and schedules.
    • Work with service coordinators/team to optimise site disruption/downtime.
    • Serve as the primary contact throughout project delivery, ensuring work is completed on schedule and meets customer and company expectations.

    Compliance, Health and safety

    • Ensure all activities comply with relevant health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations.
    • Maintain adherence to company standards and industry-specific safety requirements.
    • Promote safe working practices across all projects and contractor activities.

    What We’re Looking For

    Essential:

    • Experience in operations, project coordination, or service-based roles.
    • Proficiency in CRM/ERP systems (Oracle NetSuite preferable).
    • Experience in working within an ISO 9001 accredited organisation.
    • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
    • High attention to detail and commitment to quality.

    Desirable

    • Experience with refractory materials or cremator systems.
    • Health & Safety certification (e.g., IOSH).
    • Familiarity with engineering and manufacturing processes.
    • Ability to interpret engineer drawings.

    Working Pattern & Travel

Full time, 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday) with one day per week working from home.

    Salary: £35,000-£40,000 per annum.

    What We Offer

    • 24 days’ annual leave, increasing with length of service, plus bank holidays
    • Festive December shutdown
    • An additional paid day off for your birthday
    • Competitive pension scheme with company contributions matched up to 5%
