About the Role
We are seeking an experienced insurance documentation professional to play a critical role in supporting our UK business. This position will be responsible for the development and oversight of key insurance documentation, including Delegated Authority Agreements, reinsurance contracts, policy wordings, and associated regulatory documentation.
Working closely with underwriting, claims, legal, compliance, brokers, MGAs, reinsurers, and TPAs, you will ensure that all documentation is commercially effective, legally robust, and aligned with the Company's strategic objectives, risk appetite, and regulatory obligations.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and approve policy forms, wordings, clauses, endorsements, policy summaries, IPIDs, ICOBs, and related documentation.
- Ensure policy documentation is clear, fit for purpose, customer-focused, and compliant with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
- Lead the drafting and negotiation of Delegated Authority Agreements with MGAs, ensuring alignment with business, legal, and regulatory standards.
- Review and manage outwards reinsurance documentation, ensuring consistency between inwards and outwards contracts and eliminating gaps in coverage or conditions.
- Review TOBAs and other sub-delegation agreements between MGAs, brokers, and the Company.
- Partner with underwriting, claims, legal, compliance, and operational teams to support new business initiatives and renewal activity.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including brokers, reinsurers, MGAs, and TPAs.
- Provide technical guidance and subject matter expertise on insurance documentation, wordings, market practice, and regulatory developments.
Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years' experience within Lloyd's, the London Market, or the UK insurance company market.
- Proven expertise in Property & Casualty insurance documentation across both commercial and consumer products.
- Extensive experience drafting and reviewing Delegated Authority Agreements and reinsurance wordings.
- Strong technical understanding of insurance law, regulation, and market practice.
- Legal qualification, insurance qualification, or equivalent technical accreditation preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to navigate complex documentation and stakeholder environments.
