How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Financial Accountant

    • London (Hybrid – 3 days in office)

    We are working with a well-established West End property investment and management business seeking a qualified Financial Accountant to join their growing finance team.


    The firm manages a UK-wide portfolio of 700+ units across both commercial and residential assets. Their client base includes private investors, family offices and corporates, supported by an in-house team covering investment, development, surveying and finance. The business forms part of a wider global real estate-focused asset management group and operates to RICS and FCA standards. This is a broad, hands-on role with exposure across reporting, tax and core accounting in a dynamic property environment.


    Key Responsibilities

    Prepare Client Accounts:

    • Update all client bank accounts
    • Reconcile bank accounts
    • Update shareholders loan accounts and investigate discrepancies
    • Reconcile balance sheet items
    • Prepare accruals, deferred income, accrued income and prepayments
    • Post journals
    • Check management fees are correct
    • Review expenditure
    • Comfortable with currencies would be an advantage
    • Finalise accounts and forward to relevant parties
    • File accounts


    Prepare Tax Schedule:

    • Prepare tax return
    • File tax returns
    • Resolve all queries
    • Reconcile differences with HMRC statement and liaise with HMRC


    Cash Reconciliations:

    • Respond to queries from directors, shareholders and external accountants
    • Run quarterly client reports on Tramps and send to clients
    • Ad-hoc reporting and investigations when required


    VAT:

    • Experience of preparing and filing VAT returns, including partial exemption would be an advantage


    Additional knowledge that would be an advantage:

    • Company formation with Companies House
    • Filing of confirmation statements and updating Companies House
    • VAT registration and Option to Tax notification


    Requirements

    • Fully qualified (ACCA/CIMA/CPA)
    • Experience in a similar role, ideally within property or real estate
    • Strong knowledge of VAT and corporation tax
    • Confident producing management accounts
    • Strong Excel and systems skills
