Employee Relations and Change Specialist | Two FTC Opportunities
Salary: £54,104 – £56,810, pro-rata where applicable
Contract: Two fixed-term options available
- 6-month FTC
- FTC until 31 July 2027
Location: Hybrid, with 2 days per week in the London or Sheffield office
Merrifield Consultants are working with a national charity to recruit two Employee Relations and Change Specialists. These are the same role, with two different fixed-term contract options available.
The role sits within a People and Culture team supporting staff and volunteers across several UK sites.
You will manage a mixed employee relations caseload, guide managers through informal and formal processes, lead investigations and help secure fair and timely outcomes. You will also support organisational change activity, including consultation, communication, redeployment, trial periods and redundancy processes.
Regular weekly travel is required in line with operational needs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing informal and formal employee relations cases
- Providing clear advice to managers on complex issues
- Leading investigations in line with policy and good practice
- Coaching managers to strengthen people management
- Supporting consultation and the operational stages of change activity
- Keeping accurate and compliant records
- Promoting organisational values and good safeguarding practice
We are looking for someone with:
- A strong employee relations background, including complex casework
- Experience supporting organisational change programmes
- Good knowledge of UK employment law and the Equality Act
- CIPD Level 7 or equivalent
- Coaching and mediation qualifications
- Strong communication and influencing skills
- Confidence handling conflict and managing resistance
- The ability to work independently and manage varied priorities
- Experience in the charity or health sector would be desirable.
