How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Role: Technical Writer

    Duration: 6 Months (to end of December)

    Location: Hybrid (2 - 3 days a week in office)

    Rate: £200 - £250 pd (PAYE) or £264.88 - £331.10 LTD/UMB

    What You'll Do:

    As a Technical Writer, you'll play a crucial role in enhancing customer engagement and ensuring that our documentation meets the needs of our stakeholders. Here are your core responsibilities:

    Implement Marketing Strategies: Align customer notifications with departmental strategies and broader business goals.
    Document Management: Maintain and optimize the documentation architecture for affiliate notifications issued to external customers.
    Subject Matter Expertise: Become the go-to expert on documentation, collaborating closely with the customer experience team to identify key 'pain' and 'gain' points.
    Training & Support: Educate and train commercial and technical teams on sourcing and self-serving customer notification data and documents.What You Bring:

    We're looking for a candidate with a strong educational background and excellent communication skills. Here's what's essential:

    Education: Degree or postgraduate degree in a Science subject (Biomedical Science preferred).
    Problem Solving: Exceptional problem-solving skills with a knack for clear communication.
    Relationship Building: Proven ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
    Focus: Experience working in complex, cross-functional environments while staying focused on critical goals.
    Writing Experience: A proven track record of writing customer-facing technical communications.Desirable Skills:

    Technical Writer qualification
    Operational knowledge of the NHS and healthcare context
    Understanding of the laboratory diagnostics market
    Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite
