How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    8-Month Contract

O'Neill & Brennan are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Engineer to join a major tidal defence and coastal infrastructure project in Devon.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established civil engineering team delivering a significant coastal protection scheme. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring works are delivered safely, accurately and to the highest quality standards.

    Responsibilities

Checking existing site levels and verifying against design information.
Setting out and providing levels to operational teams.
    Reviewing drawings and identifying discrepancies.
Raising RFIs where required and assisting with technical problem solving.
Calculating concrete quantities prior to pours.
    Monitoring quality throughout construction activities.
Comparing completed works against as-built information.
Supporting permit-to-dig processes and ensuring compliance with site procedures.
Working closely with site management and subcontractors to maintain programme and quality standards.

    Requirements

Previous experience working as a Site Engineer on civil engineering, infrastructure, marine or coastal projects.
Competent using Trimble surveying equipment (or equivalent).
Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Experience managing quality and maintaining accurate site records.
    Cat & Genny certification/experience essential.
CAD experience would be advantageous but is not essential.

    The Ideal Candidate

Our client is looking for more than just technical competence. They are seeking an engineer who can proactively identify issues before they become problems, develop practical solutions and take ownership of implementation.

The successful candidate will be confident communicating with site teams, subcontractors and management while maintaining a strong focus on quality, safety and programme delivery.

    Contract Details

    Start in approximately 6 weeks.
    8-month contract.
Working hours typically 07:00 – 17:00, with flexibility to support operational requirements.
£350 - £450 per day dependent on experience.
    Interview required prior to appointment.

If you are an experienced Site Engineer looking for your next long-term contract opportunity within a major coastal infrastructure project, we'd like to hear from you.
