How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

We are currently supporting an opportunity for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor / Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established multidisciplinary construction consultancy with a strong UK and international presence. The business has built a strong reputation delivering complex, large-scale projects across the industrial, logistics, commercial, and infrastructure sectors.

Based within their North West office, this role sits within a highly collaborative cost management team working across a growing portfolio of data centre projects. The environment is supportive and development-focused, with a strong emphasis on early responsibility, structured progression, and exposure to high-value projects.

    The Role

This position will focus on pre-construction cost management and infrastructure-led schemes within the data centre sector. The successful candidate will be involved in early-stage commercial support, cost planning, procurement, and project analysis work supporting the delivery of technically complex developments.

You will work closely with senior members of the team to deliver accurate cost advice, support strategic decision-making, and contribute to the successful delivery of major programmes of work.

    Key Responsibilities

Supporting pre-construction cost planning and feasibility work

Assisting with cost modelling and commercial analysis

Procurement support and tender documentation preparation

Assisting with contract administration and reporting

Measuring works and preparing cost plans and estimates

Working closely with senior QS team members on live projects

Supporting infrastructure and mission-critical developments through early project stages

Engaging with clients and design teams where appropriate

    Requirements

Exposure to pre-construction or early-stage project work preferred

Interest or experience within data centre, infrastructure, industrial, or complex construction projects advantageous

Strong analytical, communication, and organisational skills

Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or related discipline (or working towards)

Ambition to progress within a structured and high-performing team

    What’s on Offer

    Hybrid working arrangement

Excellent exposure to pre-construction and major infrastructure projects

Structured career progression with early responsibility

    Supportive, collaborative team environment

Opportunity to work on technically challenging, high-value schemes
