How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Are you looking to start your career in lighting controls and technical sales?
    Our client is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Junior Technical Sales Support Engineer to join the growing Lighting Controls team.
    This is an exciting opportunity for someone with an interest in electrical systems, lighting controls or smart buildings who is looking to develop a career within a growing business.
    Initially, you'll work alongside our experienced Lighting Sales team, providing day-to-day support with customer enquiries, quotations, technical documentation and project administration. As your knowledge and confidence grow, you'll gradually become more involved in customer interactions and technical sales activities.
    Full training will be provided, although some basic understanding of lighting controls, electrical systems or DALI technology would be beneficial.
    Key Responsibilities
    Working alongside the experienced Lighting Controls team, you will:
    * Support the Lighting Sales team with customer enquiries and day-to-day sales activities.
    * Assist in preparing accurate quotations for lighting control projects.
    * Use Bluebeam to review drawings and identify lighting control requirements.
    * Assist with preparing lighting control layouts and technical documentation.
    * Provide administrative support for customer projects and quotations.
    * Liaise with customers, contractors and consultants to obtain project information.
    * Help maintain customer records and opportunities within the CRM system.
    * Attend customer meetings and occasional site visits with senior members of the team.
    * Develop your knowledge of DALI lighting controls, products and system design through structured training.
    * Provide excellent customer service and ensure enquiries are responded to promptly.
    About You
    We're looking for someone who is enthusiastic, organised and keen to build a long-term career within the lighting controls industry.
    Essential
    * Excellent communication and customer service skills.
    * Good attention to detail.
    * Confident using Microsoft Office.
    * Willingness to learn new software and technical products.
    * Full UK driving licence.
    Beneficial (but not essential)
    * A basic understanding of lighting controls or DALI systems.
    * An electrical, engineering or building services background.
    * Experience reading electrical or lighting drawings.
    * Experience using Bluebeam or similar drawing software.
    Full training will be provided, so we're looking for attitude and willingness to learn just as much as previous experience.
    Personal Attributes
    We're looking for someone who:
    * Enjoys building long-term customer relationships.
    * Is friendly, approachable and professional.
    * Has excellent attention to detail.
    * Enjoys solving problems and supporting customers.
    * Is eager to learn and develop new technical skills.
    Salary & Benefits
    * Competitive salary (dependent on experience)
    * Laptop and mobile phone
    * Hybrid working
    * 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
    * Pension scheme
    * Ongoing product and technical training
    Company Culture
    Our client is a dynamic and innovative company delivering intelligent lighting and energy solutions that improve building performance and reduce energy consumption. We pride ourselves on a collaborative, supportive working environment with a strong focus on professional development, customer satisfaction, and technical excellence.
    Please only apply if you have the right to work in the UK with no restrictions
