How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    GRADUATE ELECTRICAL ENGINEER – TECHNICAL PROPOSALS & APPLICATIONS
    Location: Sheffield, South Yorkshire
    Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 + Excellent Benefits
    Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm
    Are you a recent Electrical Engineering graduate looking to start your engineering career with a company that supplies critical equipment to the global power generation and industrial sectors?
    We are looking for a Graduate Electrical Engineer to join our growing engineering team in Sheffield. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in technical engineering, costing, project planning and customer solutions while working with high-voltage motors, generators and rotating electrical equipment.
    You will receive training and mentoring from experienced engineers and will develop a strong understanding of how engineering solutions are designed, costed and delivered to customers worldwide.
    What you'll be doing:
    • Supporting the preparation of technical quotations and proposals
    • Reviewing customer enquiries, specifications and technical requirements
    • Assisting with cost estimates and project planning activities
    • Working closely with engineering, sales and project teams
    • Supporting tender and bid submissions
    • Liaising with customers and suppliers to gather technical information
    • Developing an understanding of power generation and rotating electrical equipment
    • Helping improve internal processes and engineering documentation
    • Building knowledge of commercial and technical aspects of engineering projects
    What we're looking for:
    • Degree or MEng in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Power Engineering or a related discipline
    • Recent graduates and final-year students are encouraged to apply
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Good communication and organisational skills
    • Ability to work effectively within a team
    • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
    • Interest in power generation, motors, generators and industrial engineering
