How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Solar PV Maintenance Technician
    Location: Midlands / South Midlands (ideally based between Ampthill and Coventry/Leamington Spa)
    We are seeking an experienced Solar PV Maintenance Technician to join a UK-based specialist in commercial solar operations and maintenance. You'll work on a variety of rooftop and ground-mounted solar PV systems across the UK, supporting system performance, safety, and reliability. This is a field-based role with regular travel and occasional overnight stays.
    You'll be responsible for:
    * Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on solar PV systems
    * Diagnosing and rectifying faults on PV modules, inverters, DC/AC cabling, and associated equipment
    * Undertaking electrical testing, inspections, and performance assessments
    * Identifying, documenting, and reporting defects, degradation, or safety issues
    * Completing maintenance reports, test results, and site documentation accurately and on time
    * Liaising professionally with clients, site managers, and internal teams
    * Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with health & safety regulations, company procedures, and industry standards
    * Travelling regularly to sites across the UK, including occasional overnight stays as required
    You'll have previous experience working with solar PV systems (commercial and/or utility-scale preferred) and relevant electrical qualifications. The ideal candidate is hands-on, technically capable, safety-conscious, and comfortable working independently in the field while representing the business professionally.
    Package:
    * Competitive salary from £45,000 + generous bonus structure
    * Travel expenses, accommodation, and subsistence covered when working away from home
    * Company vehicle, tools, and specialist equipment provided
    * Ongoing training and professional development
    * Long-term opportunity within a growing renewable energy business
    Essential Requirements:
    * Proven experience working with solar PV systems (commercial and/or utility-scale preferred)
    * Relevant electrical qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent)
    * Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
    * Ability to work at height and outdoors in varying weather conditions
    * Full UK driving licence
    * Willingness to travel nationwide and stay away from home when required
    Desirable (Not Essential):
    * 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
    * ECS/CSCS card (or willingness to obtain)
    * Previous experience in O&M or field-based maintenance roles
    * Knowledge of PV monitoring systems and performance data analysis
    * HV/LV authorisations
    * First Aid and IPAF certifications (training can be provided)
    This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing renewable energy specialist with a strong track record of commercial solar O&M. You'll benefit from a supportive team, ongoing training, and a field-based role offering variety and responsibility
