How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Production Operator | Gosport | £16.90 per hour | Ongoing Contract | 12-Hour Days & Nights

    Are you an experienced Production Operator with strong machine operating skills and the ability to identify and resolve minor equipment faults

    Workshop Recruitment is working with a well-established manufacturing business in Gosport seeking a Production Operator to join their production team on an ongoing contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a Production Operator who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, maximising machine performance, and contributing to production targets.

    As a Production Operator, you will play a key role in maintaining equipment effectiveness, ensuring product quality, and supporting efficient production processes.

    The successful Production Operator will work a rotating pattern of 12-hour day and night shifts. (6am – 6pm and 6pm – 6am)

    Unless living in Gosport you would need your own transport due to location and hours.

    Key Responsibilities

    Set up machinery to required production specifications.
    Monitor product quality and complete first-off quality checks.
    Maximise machine output and production performance.
    Carry out basic fault finding and minor machine adjustments.
    Escalate equipment issues to Engineering when required.
    Minimise material waste through effective machine operation.
    Conduct effective shift handovers and communicate production status.
    Maintain high housekeeping and hygiene standards.

    Skills & Knowledge Required

    Previous experience as a Production Operator or Machine Operator.
    Experience working within a manufacturing environment.
    Ability to carry out basic fault finding and machine adjustments.
    Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
    Good communication skills and teamwork abilities.
    Ability to work safely and follow operating procedures.
    Comfortable working 12-hour rotating day and night shifts.
    Blanking machine experience is advantageous, although training can be provided
