How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Children’s Occupational Therapist – Walsall Council Service Care Solutions are recruiting for a Children’s Occupational Therapist on behalf of Walsall Council.

    Location: Walsall (Hybrid – 2 days per week in the office, with touchdown space available Monday to Friday between visits)

    Pay Rate:
    £40.00 per hour (Umbrella)
    £35.14 per hour (PAYE, inclusive)Contract Type: Ongoing

    Requirements:
    Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essentialRole Overview: We are seeking an experienced and confident Children’s Occupational Therapist to join a dedicated team within Walsall Council. This hybrid role involves working both in the community and office-based settings, supporting children and families through high-quality assessments and interventions.

    Key Responsibilities:
    Undertake assessments and reviews within the home environment
    Provide advice, guidance, and signposting to appropriate services
    Recommend and supply both standard and bespoke specialist equipment
    Complete manual handling and risk assessments
    Carry out assessments for minor and major adaptations, including Disabled Facilities Grants (DFGs)
    Implement minor adaptations where appropriate
    Work collaboratively with partner organisations including the NHS, local authorities, schools, and Child Development Centres (CDC)Requirements:
    Qualified Occupational Therapist with HCPC registration
    Solid experience working as a Children’s Occupational Therapist
    Strong understanding of complex equipment and housing adaptations
    Proven experience with DFG processes and adaptations
    Excellent clinical reasoning skills
    Strong communication and multidisciplinary working abilityBenefits:
