How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Title: Trailer Technician
    Salary: £42,000
    Hours: Monday to Friday, Day Shift (42.5 hours per week)

    An established commercial vehicle engineering business is seeking a skilled Trailer Maintenance Engineer to join its busy workshop operation in the Haydock area. Due to continued growth and an increasing workload, the company is looking to strengthen its team with an experienced technician who takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship.

    The Role:
    Conduct routine maintenance, inspections and repairs on a variety of commercial trailers
    Identify faults and carry out corrective work efficiently and accurately
    Undertake preventative maintenance to minimise vehicle downtime
    Ensure trailers meet legal compliance and safety standards
    Assist with inspection processes and prepare equipment for statutory testing
    Complete job records and maintenance reports using digital systems
    Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment
    Work collaboratively with colleagues to meet workshop targets and deadlinesThe Successful Candidate Will Have:
    Previous experience maintaining and repairing commercial trailers
    Strong mechanical aptitude and fault-finding abilities
    Understanding of workshop procedures and vehicle safety standards
    Relevant engineering qualifications are advantageous but not essential for experienced candidates
    Ability to manage workloads independently and prioritise tasks effectively
    A proactive and professional approach to work
