How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

SMT Production Set Up Operative (Twilight Shift)

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized SMT Production Set Up Operative to join our production team on the Twilight Shift. This crucial role focuses on the essential "kitting" and preparation stage of manufacturing, ensuring that our Surface Mount Technology (SMT) production lines have exactly what they need to run smoothly, accurately, and without delay.

If you have a sharp eye for components and enjoy a fast-paced manufacturing environment, this is an excellent opportunity to play a vital role in our precision electronics assembly process.

    Responsibilities

    * Component Kitting: Accurately select, count, and prepare electronic components and materials required for specific SMT production runs based on pick lists and kitting instructions.

    * Line Set Up: Set up SMT feeders, component reels, and materials, ensuring everything is correctly loaded and verified before production begins.

    * Inventory Control: Monitor stock levels during the shift, report any shortages, and return unused components to the correct inventory locations post-run.

    * Quality Assurance: Verify part numbers, values, and polarities against documentation to prevent setup errors and ensure high-caliber production quality.

    * Traceability: Maintain accurate records of material movement and batch codes within the production tracking system.

    Experience & Skills

    * Proven experience in a manufacturing or production environment (experience with electronics, SMT components, or assembly is highly desirable).

    * Strong understanding of kitting processes and inventory component identification.

    * Excellent attention to detail with the ability to read and interpret technical production documentation and pick lists.

    * Ability to work independently and efficiently during the twilight shift hours.

    * Good communication skills and a collaborative approach to supporting the wider production team.

    The Package

    * Hourly Rate: £13.00 - £14.00 per hour (dependent on experience).

    * Shift Pattern: Dedicated Twilight / Late Night Shift hours.

    * Environment: Work within a clean, modern, and precision-engineered manufacturing facility
