We are seeking Surface Mount Technicians / operators to join a precision electronics manufacturing team based in Andover.
As an SMT Technician, you will be a key member of the PCBA production team, responsible for operating and maintaining automated SMT lines. You will ensure the precise assembly of Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs), contributing directly to high-performance electronic assemblies used in critical sectors such as Aerospace, Medical, Defence, and Automotive.

Responsibilities
* Line Operation & Setup: Perform basic equipment maintenance, component loading, and SMT line setup to ensure smooth production runs.
* Quality Inspection: Perform thorough visual inspections before and after the reflow soldering process using microscopes and inspection tools.
* Technical Compliance: Correctly interpret and follow build documentation, parts lists, and assembly drawings.
* Process Monitoring: Monitor production output, ensuring components are placed correctly and defects are identified early.
* Documentation: Keep accurate records of production data, yields, and quality checks.
* Team Support: Support new team members, promote best practices in the SMT area, and maintain a clean, safe, and organised workspace.
Experience & Skills
* Proven experience in a manufacturing, production, or automated machinery environment.
* Familiarity with SMT equipment, such as pick & place machines, reflow ovens, or inspection tools.
* Experience with component identification, hand tools, or using microscopes for inspection.
* Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow precise technical instructions.
* Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
The Package
* Hourly Rate: £12.83 per hour, automatically increasing to £13.21 per hour after successful completion of a 6-month training and probation period.
* Shift Premium: Twilight shift positions receive an additional 15% annual shift allowance.
* Work-Life Balance: The Twilight shift offers a condensed 4-day working week (Monday – Thursday).
