How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Responsibilities

    * Advanced Equipment Operation: Command high-tech inspection machinery, including AOI (Automated Optical Inspection), FPT (Flying Probe Testing), QUINS, and X-Ray systems to diagnose and verify complex electronic circuitry.

    * Microscopic Diagnostics: Conduct deep-dive visual inspections via high-magnification microscopes and digital cameras to identify minute defects, component misalignments, or soldering anomalies.

    * Engineering Feedback Loop: Analyze defects and provide clear, technical feedback to the SMT (Surface Mount Technology) and soldering teams to optimise the assembly process and prevent future errors.

    * IPC Quality Standards: Ensure all assemblies comply strictly with rigorous IPC industry standards and assist with technical investigations into customer returns or component failures.

    * System Calibration: Manage the routine calibration, upkeep, and general maintenance of your advanced testing and inspection suite.

    Experience & Skills

    * Electronics Backgound: Proven experience in electronics inspection, quality control, or electronic equipment testing.

    * Microscope Proficiency: Confident and comfortable performing high-precision visual inspections under a microscope for extended periods.

    * Technical & Digital Literacy: Computer literate with the capability to interpret complex digital work instructions, data policies, and technical schematics.

    * Desirable Extras: Prior experience programming or operating AOI, Flying Probe, or X-Ray machinery, or the ability to fault-find electronics down to the component level.

    The Package

    * Hourly Rate: £12.83 per hour, automatically rising to £13.21 per hour after a successful 6-month training and probation period.

    * Professional Development: Access to industry-recognised IPC training certifications and ongoing funding for further education in electronics engineering.

    * Career Stability: Join a highly stable, rapidly expanding business at the absolute forefront of UK electronics manufacturing
