How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Will Writer to join a professional estate planning company supporting clients with wills, trusts, LPAs and inheritance tax planning.

    Our client is a UK-based estate planning company that helps individuals and families put tailored solutions in place, including wills, trusts, lasting powers of attorney, and inheritance tax planning. They focus on providing personalised guidance to help clients safeguard their assets, protect loved ones, and ensure their wishes are carried out with clarity and confidence.


    About the Role:

    In this role, you will draft wills, LPAs, trusts, and other estate planning documents while supporting clients through the process with clear and professional guidance. You will also manage your own caseload, maintain accurate records, and ensure all work complies with current legislation and regulatory standards.

    You will have previous experience drafting wills or advising on estate planning matters, along with strong communication skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to explain complex information clearly.


    Key Responsibilities

    Will Drafting & Estate Planning

    • Draft wills of varying complexity, including Mirror Wills, trusts, guardianship clauses, and tax-efficient structures
    • Prepare and register Lasting Powers of Attorney, property trusts, and other estate planning documents
    • Ensure all documents comply with current legislation, regulatory expectations, and best-practice standards
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of estate planning, inheritance tax, and trust law

    Client Communication & Advice

    • Take detailed instructions from clients remotely and face-to-face
    • Explain legal concepts in accessible language
    • Keep clients informed throughout the drafting process and respond to queries promptly
    • Build strong, trust-based relationships with clients

    Case Management & Administration

    • Manage a personal caseload from instruction to completion
    • Maintain accurate client records and ensure compliance with data protection and regulatory standards
    • Assist with administrative duties including post handling, filing, and document organisation

    Professional Standards & Development

    • Uphold high standards of professionalism, accuracy, and client care
    • Engage in continuous professional development and training
    • Contribute positively to team objectives, referrals, and service promotion


    Skills & Experience Required

    Essential:

    • Experience drafting Wills or advising on estate‑planning matters.
    • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex topics clearly.
    • High attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Ability to manage a caseload and prioritise effectively.

    Desirable:

    • Knowledge of trusts, inheritance tax, and LPAs.
    • Experience in a legal, financial, or estate‑planning environment.
    • Membership of a professional body such as STEP or the Society of Will Writers, demonstrating expertise and adherence to professional standards.
