How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Senior Architectural Technician

    Hybrid | Birmingham or Shropshire | Permanent | Full-Time

Help Shape Two Landmark Healthcare Projects Worth Up to £1bn

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Architectural Technician to play a pivotal role in the delivery of two major healthcare developments with project values of up to £1 billion. Working within a highly respected, multi-award-winning architectural practice, you will contribute to projects that will have a lasting impact on healthcare infrastructure, patient experience, and communities across the UK.

This role offers the chance to work on complex, large-scale developments from detailed design through to construction and delivery, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams in a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

    The Opportunity
As a Senior Architectural Technician, you will take ownership of technical delivery across significant healthcare schemes, ensuring design intent is translated into coordinated, buildable, and compliant construction information.

You will be a key member of the project team, working closely with senior architects, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders to deliver technically robust solutions on some of the UK's most high-profile healthcare projects.

This position offers a hybrid working model with flexibility to be based from either Birmingham or Shrewsbury.

    What You'll Be Doing
    • Leading the production and coordination of detailed technical and construction information.
    • Managing day-to-day technical delivery during production information and construction phases.
    • Producing high-quality working drawing packages with minimal supervision.
    • Coordinating multidisciplinary design information and consultant inputs.
    • Ensuring compliance with UK Building Regulations, planning requirements, and industry standards.
    • Advising project teams on construction methodologies, materials, buildability, and technical solutions.
    • Supporting BIM delivery using Revit and Level 2 BIM processes.
    • Undertaking Designer Risk Assessments (CDM) and contributing to health and safety compliance.
    • Liaising with statutory authorities, approval bodies, and external stakeholders.
    • Supporting project quality assurance processes and technical reviews.
    • Contributing to successful project delivery from concept through to completion.

    What We're Looking For
You will be a technically accomplished professional with a passion for delivering complex projects and a strong understanding of construction detailing and technical coordination.

    Essential Requirements
    • Relevant degree, HNC/HND, BTEC, or equivalent qualification.
    • Minimum of 10 years' post-qualification experience as an Architectural Technician/Technologist.
    • Strong technical expertise across large-scale construction projects.
    • Significant experience within healthcare environments, ideally with additional experience across other sectors including education or high-density residential.
    • Advanced proficiency in Revit, with extensive experience using it as a primary project delivery tool.
    • Excellent knowledge of UK Building Regulations, construction technology, and statutory requirements.
    • Strong understanding of current and emerging fire safety regulations.
    • Proven ability to work independently while contributing effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
    • Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.

    Why Consider This Opportunity?
    • Work on nationally significant healthcare developments with project values reaching £1bn.
    • Join a collaborative, design-focused practice with an outstanding industry reputation.
    • Be part of a business that invests in innovation, technology, and professional development.
    • Enjoy exposure to complex, technically challenging projects that will enhance your career profile.
    • Benefit from a flexible hybrid working arrangement and genuine opportunities for progression.

    Package & Benefits
    • Competitive salary dependent on experience.
    • Hybrid working arrangement.
    • 25 days annual leave plus public holidays, increasing with service.
    • Structured career development and ongoing training support.

    • Critical Illness Insurance.
    • Life Assurance.
    • Discretionary bonus scheme.
