How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    CNC Wood Machinist

    Location: Chichester

    Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

    Join Our Workshop Team

    We are a bespoke furniture workshop specialising in the design and manufacture of high-quality solid wood furniture. Combining traditional craftsmanship with modern manufacturing techniques, we create unique, made-to-order pieces for residential and commercial clients.

    We are looking for an experienced CNC Wood Machinist to join our growing team in Chichester. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in precision, craftsmanship, and producing exceptional work.

    The Role

    As a CNC Wood Machinist, you will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC woodworking machinery to produce components for bespoke furniture and joinery projects. You will work closely with our design and production teams to ensure all work is completed to the highest standards.

    Key Responsibilities

    Set up and operate CNC routers and woodworking machinery

    Read and interpret technical drawings and production specifications

    Produce high-quality components from solid timber and sheet materials

    Perform quality checks throughout the manufacturing process

    Maintain machinery and ensure a safe working environment

    Support efficient workshop operations and production schedules

    About You

    Essential

    Previous experience operating CNC woodworking machinery

    Ability to read and interpret technical drawings

    Strong understanding of woodworking materials and machining processes

    Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality

    Ability to work independently and as part of a team

    Desirable

    Experience within bespoke furniture or joinery manufacturing

    CNC programming or CAD/CAM experience

    Knowledge of machinery such as Homag, Biesse, SCM, Weeke, or similar
