How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, Part-Time, Warwick

You won't be doing this on your own. You'd share the week with the students tutor, both working to the same plan for one Year 7 pupil. As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you'd cover Mondays and Tuesdays, staying with him through lessons and social times, while your colleague takes Wednesday to Friday.

He has an EHCP, is neurodivergent, and is currently learning at an early level. If you've studied psychology and want to see how theory works in practice, this is the kind of role where that knowledge genuinely matters.

You'll notice patterns, understand what's driving his responses, and adapt how you work with him day to day. Before you start, his other tutor will sit down with you and talk through exactly what helps him feel settled and ready to learn.

    What you'll be doing

    * Providing 1:1 support to one Year 7 pupil with an EHCP across his Monday and Tuesday lessons.

    * Staying with him during social times, helping him feel safe and included alongside his peers.

    * Adapting tasks and explanations so learning is pitched at the right level for him.

    * Observing how he responds to different approaches and feeding that back to the school team.

    * Helping him stay regulated and engaged, following the strategies you share with his other tutor.

    * Keeping the week consistent for him, so the handover from one day to the next feels seamless.

    What you'll bring

    * A degree in psychology, a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, or recent classroom-based experience supporting pupils with additional needs.

    * An understanding of neurodivergence and how it shapes the way a young person learns and communicates.

    * A calm, patient manner, and the ability to stay steady when a pupil is finding things hard.

    * A genuine curiosity about the "why" behind behaviour, not just managing it but understanding it.

    * Good communication, so you can work closely with his other tutor and keep the school updated.

    * Reliability. This pupil does best when his support feels predictable and familiar.

    What's on offer

    * A part-time, ongoing role (Mondays and Tuesdays) in a mainstream Warwick school.

    * A detailed handover from the pupil's existing tutor before you start.

    * Real, hands-on experience working 1:1 with a neurodivergent pupil, valuable if you're considering a career in educational psychology, teaching, or therapy.

    * Weekly pay through our in-house PAYE team, with the rate based on your experience and training.

    * A dedicated consultant supporting you throughout. The school is hoping to welcome someone ASAP.

    Why Sprint?

If you're looking to work as a teacher in a mainstream classroom, providing day-to-day supply cover, we're probably not the agency for you. But if you're passionate about supporting students with additional needs and want a long-term role where you can build consistency and see the impact of your work every day, that's exactly what we do.

    Next Steps

If you're looking for a role where you can make a genuine difference, register your interest today.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position is previous experience working in a school setting.

Sprint Education Recruitment is committed to safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults. We take our responsibilities extremely seriously. All staff we register will undertake thorough interviewing and referencing checks and hold, or be prepared to undergo, an Enhanced DBS check that must be registered on the Update Service.
