How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Civil / Structural Engineer

    Our client, a leading organisation in the power utilities sector, is currently seeking a Civil / Structural Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis. This role involves working extensively with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and solar projects, contributing significantly to the development of the energy infrastructure.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Designing and developing civil and structural frameworks for BESS and solar systems
    Conducting detailed analysis and calculations to ensure structural integrity and safety
    Collaborating with electrical engineers to integrate civil designs with 33Kv and 132kv electrical systems
    Managing project timelines and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations
    Performing site inspections and providing technical guidance during construction phases
    Preparing technical reports, documentation, and presentations for stakeholders
    Providing solutions to engineering challenges in the power utilities sector
    Maintaining effective communication with project teams, clients, and external contractors

    Job Requirements:

    Experience in civil and structural engineering within the power utilities sector
    Strong knowledge of BESS, solar systems, and related civil engineering principles
    Understanding of 33Kv and 132kv electrical systems and their integration with civil structures
    Proficiency in using engineering design software and tools
    Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
    Strong written and verbal communication abilities
    Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively
    Relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualification
