How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Undertaking highway, external works, and infrastructure design where required.
Coordinating with architects, contractors, clients, and fellow consultants throughout project delivery.
Attending site visits and supporting projects during construction.
Delivering innovative, practical, and sustainable engineering solutions.
Working independently while collaborating closely with an experienced and supportive team.

    About You

3–5 years' experience within a civil engineering consultancy.
A degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
Proven experience in drainage design, including surface water management and SuDS.
A good understanding of flood risk, drainage strategies, and infrastructure design.
A broad engineering design background and sound knowledge of relevant design standards.
    Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
The ability to manage projects and build effective relationships with clients and project teams.
A proactive attitude and a desire to take ownership of projects.
Progress towards Chartership would be advantageous but is not essential.

    Why Apply?

This role offers the opportunity to work on some of the most interesting projects in the UK, combining modern engineering challenges with the conservation and adaptation of historic structures.

    In return, you'll benefit from:

Exposure to landmark heritage and contemporary developments.
Strong career progression opportunities with a proven track record of internal promotion.
A supportive and collaborative working environment.
