Overview
An experienced Electrical Commissioning Engineer is required to support the safe commissioning and energisation of high-voltage electrical infrastructure works on SPEN projects. The role is focused on delivering commissioning activities in accordance with approved procedures, safety rules, network standards and statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver commissioning and support energisation of HV plant and systems
Undertake testing in line with approved procedures, programmes and risk controls
Coordinate with construction, delivery and control room stakeholders to ensure safe integration
Complete commissioning test records, as-built documentation inputs and handover packs
Support fault finding, defect resolution and commissioning close-out
Maintain compliance with safety rules, permit systems, quality standards and project documentation requirements
Essential Requirements
Proven experience as an Electrical Commissioning Engineer within UK transmission and/or distribution environments
Current SPEN authorisation(s) appropriate to commissioning and switching activities (AP/SAP as applicable)
Strong understanding of HV systems, protection schemes and commissioning practices
Safety-first approach with strong documentation discipline
Ability to work independently and deliver under programme pressure
Qualifications (preferred)
HNC/HND (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or strong comparable experience
Relevant HV safety/commissioning certifications
