How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Multi Skilled Operative

    Hull | £31,680 + Training & Development | Permanent

    Are you looking for a hands-on role where no two days are the same?

    We are recruiting for a Multi Skilled Operative to join a specialist manufacturing business in Hull. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with manufacturing, production, warehouse or industrial experience who enjoys practical work and wants to develop new skills in a unique production environment.

    No previous experience with the company's machinery is required as full training will be provided.

    The Role

    As a Multi Skilled Operative, you'll play a key role in supporting production across the site. This is a varied and physically active position where you'll receive training across multiple departments and processes.

    Responsibilities include:

    Operating production plant and process equipment
    Monitoring production performance and recording operational data
    Preparing and completing production batches
    Carrying out quality and process checks
    Palletising and moving finished products and raw materials
    Supporting housekeeping and continuous improvement activities
    Following all health, safety, environmental and quality procedures
    Working flexibly across different production areas as required
    You may also have the opportunity to train and operate equipment such as:

    Counterbalance Forklift Trucks
    Overhead Cranes
    Loading Shovels
    Excavators
    Pallet Trucks

    Shift Pattern

    This position operates on a rotating 3-week shift cycle consisting of both days and nights.

    Week 1

    2 Day Shifts
    2 Night Shifts
    Week 2

    3 Day Shifts
    Week 3

    3 Night Shifts
    Day Shift: 6:30am - 6:30pm

    Night Shift: 6:30pm - 6:30am

    Average of 40 hours per week.

    This pattern repeats every three weeks.

    What We're Looking For

    Previous experience within a manufacturing, production, warehouse or industrial environment
    Comfortable working in a physically demanding role
    Strong awareness of health and safety
    Reliable and adaptable approach to work
    Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
    Willingness to learn new processes and operate a variety of equipment
    Desirable

    Counterbalance Forklift Licence
    GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent)
    NVQ in Performing Manufacturing Operations
