Academics are recruiting on behalf of a residential SEN school in Andover which caters for young people aged 11-19 years with a primary diagnosis of autism, complex needs and challenging behaviour. All young people have an EHCP.
They are seeking a committed and creative Primary Teacher to join their dedicated team. You will play a key role in establishing their new Key Stage 2 provision, delivering engaging and adaptable lessons that build confidence, curiosity, and success in learners with additional needs.
The successful Primary Teacher will be required to:
Deliver high-quality teaching within their Key Stage 2 provision.
Support students to access the National Curriculum at an appropriate level.
Adapt teaching to meet individual EHCP outcomes.
Motivate and engage learners through inclusive, creative practice.
Provide meaningful feedback to support progress and build confidence.
Contribute to enrichment and the wider life of the school.
Work collaboratively within a skilled and forward-thinking team.The suitable Primary Teacher must have:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching at Key Stage 2
Strong classroom management and a flexible, responsive teaching style
Excellent communication and organisational skills
A genuine passion for working with young people with SEND
A collaborative mindset and commitment to whole-school values
Experience in curriculum development (desirable)
Enthusiasm for shaping a new and evolving provisionThe main school building in Andover is a large country house set in 8 acres of grounds which provide a beautiful and secure setting for outdoor activities. Ideally suited to a driver due to the rural location.
