How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Senior Air Quality Consultant

We are looking for a Senior Air Quality Consultant to join SUEZ Air & Climate UK. This is a client‑facing role for a highly motivated and experienced consultant, responsible for the end‑to‑end delivery of air quality, odour, and emissions projects across industry and government sectors. The role combines technical excellence, on‑site experience, and strong stakeholder engagement.

We recognise our employees are our most important and greatest asset, and we understand that we could not accomplish what we do every day without our valued team.

We offer a salary of up to £45,000 per annum dependent on experience, 1% benefit allowance, pension, 36 days annual leave including bank holidays - rising to 38 days after 3 years of service, life assurance, salary sacrifice schemes and more.

This is a full-time, Monday to Friday, hybrid working role – The location is flexible within the UK, with a preference for candidates who are commutable to Bristol or based in the South West region.

    What will I be doing?

You will contribute to and manage a wide range of air quality and odour‑related projects, informed by diagnostic monitoring campaigns. Key responsibilities include:

    * Managing air quality and odour projects, including the collection and interpretation of environmental data from industrial, waste, and wastewater sector sites

    * Developing and implementing bespoke measurement strategies, including production of RAMS and subsequent project execution, with support from the Operations Manager

    * Liaising with clients, internal teams, site operators, and external consultants to ensure smooth project delivery

    * Processing, analysing, and reporting on a wide range of environmental and emissions datasets, including data validation and adjustment

    * Undertaking atmospheric dispersion modelling and impact assessments

    * Carrying out on‑site surveys, including monitoring equipment calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting

    * Supporting workstreams related to odour control system design, ventilation assessments, emissions monitoring, and occupational exposure surveys

    * Travelling within the UK and Ireland, with occasional European or international travel as required (including overnight stays)

This is a full-time, Monday to Friday, hybrid working role – The location is flexible within the UK, with a preference for candidates who are commutable to Bristol or based in the South West region.

    What are the requirements?

    Essential

    * Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience gained through professional practice.

    * Proven experience managing complex air quality projects, ideally with 4+ years’ practical experience, including emissions monitoring.

    * Strong knowledge of UK air quality policy and regulatory frameworks (indoor and outdoor).

    * Practical experience with indoor and outdoor air quality monitoring and a broad range of sampling equipment.

    * Experience in data processing, interpretation, and reporting of emissions and ambient air quality results.

    * Proficiency in atmospheric dispersion modelling and impact assessment.

    * Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with excellent attention to detail.

    * Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence in client‑facing roles.

    * Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

    * Proficient in Microsoft Office and data analysis tools.

    * Must hold a valid driving licence for use in the UK.

    * Willingness to travel and work flexibly as required. Available to travel where necessary, as projects may be carried out in the UK and Ireland. A valid passport is also required.

    Desirable

Knowledge of industrial processes including wastewater treatment works, anaerobic digestion, landfill, energy from waste, and power generation.
Experience or interest in occupational exposure monitoring (e.g. dust, bioaerosols, noise, or similar workplace environmental assessments).
    MCERTS qualification.

    Who we are

SUEZ is a major player in environmental services. For almost 160 years, SUEZ has supported local communities and industrial companies in the management of essential services such as water, waste, and air quality.
